Hey everyone!!!
Just wanted to let you know that we officially raffled off the quilt. The raffle was on WITN7 this past Wednesday, Nov 3rd. The winner was a wonderful woman that my mom knows. She was so excited when she won. We raised a total of $411! Thank you to everyone who participated and helped me raise money for such a great cause! My senior project turned out fantastic (I got an A+).
Love,
Kimberly Combs

It's coming!
The end is coming! We are going to have the raffle for the quilt on Wednesday, November 3rd.
We got the quilt back from the Pitt County Fair last Sunday, October the 10th. As of now we have raised a total of over $400. The wonderful fair staff helped us promote the tickets. Thank you to all the ladies who have helped me with selling the tickets for the American Cancer Society, you have been a tremendous blessing!
If you would like to watch the raffle LIVE you can watch it on WITN7 (channel 7) at 5:45am. We will announce the name of the winner and we will contact them later that day.
Tickets are still available! They will be for sale up until the morning of the raffle. Feel free to call me if you have questions.

Interview
So, WITN7 had to postpone the interview this morning due to technical difficulties (probably caused by the long lovely rain we've had this week) to this Wednesday. Heather King said I would be on around 6:15am. Not looking forward to getting up early... Thanks again to Heather King for setting it up so we can advertise the quilt to more people!

Updated Picture
So everything's coming together. We are taking the quilt to turn into the Pitt County Fair on Friday. Then, I am going on WITN7 News on Monday. On top of all that, we have sold more than 200 tickets thus far! I can't wait to see how many we sell at the fair. Let me know if you want any! (252-258-5852)

New News!!!
So, I just got the news that Heather King from WITN7, the local news channel, will be drawing the winning ticket and announcing the winner of the quilt raffle in late October during the morning broadcast!
Here's a collage I made of some of the work I put into making the quilt. The pillow in the middle right spot was made by my little sister, Juliana. It will be included with the quilt in the raffle along with a couple of other pillows that I made.

First Post
My name is Kimberly Combs and I am working on my senior project to benefit the American Cancer Society.
I hosted a mother/daughter tea party where my friends and their mothers designed and decorated quilt squares. I have pieced the squares together and made the Helping Hands Quilt. Pictures of the event are below. Photos taken by my dear friend, Lindsay.
The quilt will be entered in the Pitt County Fair in the hopes of winning a ribbon. The Fair Staff has graciously given permission for the Helping Hands Quilt to be raffled and all proceeds to be given to the American Cancer Society. To purchase a raffle ticket simply contact an attendant while in the exhibit hall. It only costs $1.00 for a chance to win.
Here a sneak peak at the finished quilt. I hope to have a better picture uploaded soon.

Helping Hands Quilt |
I am very excited to be appearing on WITN7 on Monday, Oct. 4th at 6:20 am with Heather King.
The Lady Pirates are having an event in September that I hope to be involved with. I also plan to participate in the Greenville Mall/ViQuest Health Fair Day in October.
Cancer has touched my life through family and friends. I want to join the fight and help in a small way.
